Rural Access to Broadband

ACT | The App Association invited Andrew to speak on a panel in Washington D.C. to discuss the importance of access to broadband infrastructure in rural areas. The panel addressed roughly 75 members of the House Small Business Committee on Capitol Hill. We were excited about the opportunity for many reasons. One of our most important reasons being that many of the products we build are 100% dependent on access to internet; without it, the apps and software we build are useless.

Telehealth Apps

Telehealth is quickly becoming an important area of focus for obvious reasons: lower healthcare costs, better care, improved efficiencies, and greater access to quality care – no matter where you live. Some of our clients, like BodyBoss, are leading the way through innovative technology solutions in the Telehealth space. We are working with the BodyBoss team to create a tool allowing physical therapists to remotely prescribe, monitor, and heal patients, no matter where they are located, through their new hardware / software products. This hardware and mobile app combination has the ability to significantly improve the lives of many – particularly in rural areas. Imagine driving three hours to your physical therapist, each way, multiple times a week in order to recover from an injury; this is the unfortunate reality for many. With apps like BodyBoss, patients can get the same access to quality care, at a fraction of the cost, while completely eliminating the need to travel to a therapist. Sadly, the people who need this software the most are the ones who are least likely to be able to use it, due to the lack of broadband infrastructure in rural areas. This is just one of many examples discussed on the panel, highlighting the value of internet access for all. Feel free to reach out if you are curious to learn more or discuss further!
