In February, we visited the Miami Dolphins at the Hard Rock Stadium to facilitate a business accelerator / pitch competition for the 2019 Dolphins Business Combine. We helped walk a group of ~30 players through an expedited process of developing a business from nothing but an idea, using the business model canvas. The participants were split into small groups, each with business coaches – including Andrew and his fellow teammates – helping the players turn their ideas into a viable business and an enticing pitch, to some serious judges.
The judging panel consisted of the Vice Chairman of the Miami Dolphins, Guest Shark on Shark Tank, and Co-Founder / CEO of RSE Ventures (Matt Higgins); CEO of the Miami Dolphins (Tom Garfinkel); Hall of Famer (Jason Taylor); and CEO of Goldman Properties (Jessica Goldman Srebnick).
The intent of this event is to help NFL players explore their passions and learn how to turn them into successful careers, post-football. In its third year, the combine is designed to help advance current and former Dolphins players who have shown interest in areas such as real estate, technology, business operations, business development, and investing.
It was a delight to participate in such an exciting event while helping these players take steps to a successful future!
